A defender dives in to tackle an attacker with both feet off the ground. He catches the defender on the ankle so you stop play for a free kick. The attacker is not seriously hurt so what action if any do you take against the defender?

You should not be swayed by the fact that attacker was not seriously hurt. Tackling with both feet off the ground is extremely dangerous and the attacker was lucky he didn't end up with a broken ankle. Show the defender a red card for serious foul play and restart with a direct free kick.
